About Us

Our History

Frank D. Tinari, Ph.D., founded Tinari Economics Group (TEG) in 1979 as a cost-effective and exceptionally responsive alternative to larger consulting firms. Over the years, Dr. Tinari grew the firm’s reputation as a credible and objective source for expert economic analyses and testimony.

In 2008, Kristin Kucsma, M.A. joined TEG as an Economist. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kucsma had spent 13 years as an award-winning economics professor.

Upon joining TEG, Professor Kucsma worked closely with Dr. Tinari playing a critical role in further growing the firm by integrating her considerable academic knowledge with her real world experience, expanding the existing portfolio of comprehensive services offered by Tinari Economics Group.

In 2013, TEG joined Sobel & Co. as a wholly-owned subsidiary becoming Sobel Tinari Economics Group. When Dr. Tinari retired in 2015, Professor Kucsma officially assumed leadership of the group. Since then, STEG has developed into a nationally-recognized, multi-expert firm that continues to grow and raise the bar in economic damage assessment and other economic consulting services. Ms. Kucsma has provided expert testimony at over 600 trials, arbitrations (including FINRA arbitrations), mediations and depositions in both federal and state courts and throughout the country.

Throughout our nearly 40-year history, our objective has remained the same: provide professional, credible economic analysis and testimony to our clients that retain us for their litigation needs.
